Title: Biofilm formation and control strategies in the food processing facility
Dr. Hsin-Bai Yin received a bachelor’s degree from the National Chiayi University, Taiwan in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Animal Science with a concentration in food safety and microbiology from the University of Connecticut in 2017. She has published 30 peer-reviewed papers and 5 book chapters and has performed more than 20 presentations in professional conferences. Her Ph.D. researches focused on investigating the efficacy of natural phytochemicals in protecting chickens from Salmonella colonization and aflatoxin toxicity. Dr. Yin is currently a postdoctoral research associate at the Environmental and Microbial Food Safety Laboratory, U.S Department of Agriculture in Beltsville, Maryland. Her postdoctoral research focuses on identifying the microbial contamination of fresh produce via irrigation with alternative irrigation water sources as well as developing natural antimicrobial strategies to improve microbial safety of fresh product at the pre- and post-harvest levels.
